93, Carat's and carrots

Listen, sometimes I don't know what I'm thinking, I pick up my camera and something happens. I have been told on various occasions that I am a rabbit of very little brain (which is strange for a dog) 

I think by the time I get around to my road kill series I should have it sorted out.

92, Specimen Jar

So far I have caught 92 of these little critters and If I keep on going like this I think I may need a bigger jar.

And for all of you looking for todays pun, no a specimen is not an Italian astronaut.

90, Mine, Mine,Mine

I make no apologies, I'm taking the easy route here, did a robot on the 26st, a penguin on the 27th, so why wouldn't I keep scrapping up toys and pressing them into action. Sad but true fact, I got plenty more laying around even before I get into the dogs stash of chompy chew things.

This marvelous magpie was a gift, an op shop find from my bestest buddy KC (even though she hates Collingwood with a passion)

This little fella knows it really is black and white when it comes to sitting on a small fortune. Look's like he's trying to hatch a cunning plan on how to hide all them clams. me thinks he has bigger fish to fry.

88, Australia Day January 26

I love a sunburnt country,

87, A rare glimpse of a Hexathing

Its sorta hexagonal with some flappy bits, but in truth I don't know what it is. You'd have to agree though, it is a good example of what one of them looks like. 

86, Time to Get Smart

There can be only one theme for todays image, Agent 86. My god Don Adams' timing was so precise when he was filming the TV show, it's still works now and led to so many imitators. Inspector Clueso, Inspector Gadget, Inspector Drebin, what more can I say.

Yep there's a thousand puns to go with this one, Most popular at home was 'cold hard cash' a close second was 'cold gold' and the appropriate 'soon to be liquid again' And yes I really did put put the coins into a ice maker. 

84, Banked not Fried

Today I celebrate that golden snackage, The Crisp (and by extension the Twistie) I love junk food, not just a passing fondness but an absolute deep passion for that salty oily goodness.

I like this picture it reminds me of a lava flow, the glowing hot near white heat of liquid stone running under black scorched rock.

81, Little Acorns

Gee I hope this mosaic loads reasonably fast for you. It is a composite of the previous 80 images combined to make our dollar, you can make out the Kangaroos if you squint and get far enough back, I suggest as far back as Tasmania.

80, Jar'd

I just discovered the the container I keep my coin stash in has the same size opening as my camera lens, photographing straight down at the coins gives an almost kaleidoscopic feel to the image and a gelatinous look at the same time.

I had to have a play with the view but there is no manipulation of the images, each photo below is as exactly as taken, just a small shake and different light angles

79, iCash

I just found out I can make payments for small purchases using my Iphone, this is how much it costs to buy a latte at my local cafe. Thanks Apple.

We got another one, as you can clearly see its the 2007 Year of the Volunteers. 

78, The ABC's

Time to get back to the basics, Automaton, Beer, Cash. my life is almost complete; oh yeah except for food, shelter, clothing, a personage of the female persuasion. Yeah OK I got the ABC's down its a life I'm missing.

77, Shelf Life

I always like to keep a well stocked cupboard, and I think I have all the major food groups covered. Salty, crunchy, fishy, tangy and rich.

Ah me hearties, with cries of  "There she blows!--there she blows! A hump like a snow-hill! It is Moby Dick!" (thank Mr Melville) 

And apart from the gulls it is one image with all 75 coins not a cheap knock off like days of old.

74, Flying in the face of

And you thought yesterday I was taking liberties, I know, today is just one big cheat, but as soon as I started  putting yesterdays picture together all I could think of was jet trails. And of course it has to have a twist.

73, Taking Liberties

Today I thought I'd have another play with using a mirrored image to make up the finished picture. The original three lines of coins were photographed in the shape as seen and have not been distorted after being taken.

But I will apologize for the slightly distorted Head of Mrs Liberty, America boo's, rest of world yay.

72, Two Faced

I must be getting lazier, for this image I only laid out 36 dollars and then mirrored the image to make my 72 coin picture. Thats why my skull is two faced.

71, Navigator

An ancient sextant or maybe a star chart? I thought possibly crop circles as I was laying it out to photograph, but I'll leave the final decision to you. (oh yeah, thanks to some other Aussie coins for a supporting role) 

And recently two new coins have crossed my palm and we can now add them to our collection. The 2010 Centenary of Girl Guiding and 1993's Landcare Australia, bringing our total of differing dollars to 15.

70, The Lions Share.

A matryoshka doll, or babushka doll is a Russian nesting doll which is a set of dolls of decreasing sizes placed one inside the other. (Thanks Wikipedia)

Now, have you ever seen anything so weird? AFL footy club the Brisbane Lions as a set of Babushka dolls. You will notice that I have moved (he who should not be named) to the rear, only question is who gets his money now.

69, Ashes to Ashes

You don't know how much this hurts to say, but well played England, you trashed us in every way. This has been the most one sided competition since, well since we used to do it to you on a regular basis and I don't like it one little bit.

Is there nothing cooler than dogs playing pool or even playing poker? 

Now I may not know art but I do know kitsch. OK, I know what you're thinking, that not nearly as cool as those Eurasian nudes painted on black velvet or a portrait of the King also on velvet but with a clock in his tummy. Oh behold this is truly fine art.

66, Rooted

A cheap collage but an honest homage to the great Highway Sixty Six. Unless you have a bent for Bingo then Route 66 is the first thing that usually springs to mind when the number 66 is mentioned.

65, A Fine Spine

Do you know how hard it is to stack up 65 coins and not knock them down while trying to photograph them?

My bookcase as well as having dust has a very wide range of books and as you can see I'm not a big friend of Dewey although I am up with the decimal.
